Sacred Wounds: Finding the Beauty, Goodness, & Truth in our pain
Where is God in the midst of our pain?
When life breaks us open, when suffering feels unbearable, when loss unravels our foundation, when old wounds linger like shadows, we’re left asking the same haunting question: Where is God in all of this? The world is not as it should be. We feel it deep in our bones. But what if our wounds, rather than signs of abandonment, are invitations?
In Sacred Wounds: Finding the Beauty, Goodness, and Truth in Our Pain, Dakota Hauck offers a tender and powerful invitation to explore the brokenness we all carry, and the God who meets us there. With honesty and compassion, this book unveils a deeper story, one where our wounds are not the end but the beginning, not proof of abandonment but invitations to grace. What if, in our deepest pain, Jesus is shaping something more beautiful than we ever imagined?
With raw honesty and unwavering hope, Sacred Wounds leads readers on a journey toward healing, showing how God does not merely erase our suffering but transforms it. Through biblical wisdom, personal reflection, and the unshakable truth of Christ’s love, this book reveals how our broken places can become sacred spaces where grace meets us, restores us, and makes us whole.

I’m a Christian writer who tries to think clearly and speak honestly about the things that matter most. I believe beauty is not a luxury, goodness is not a social preference, and truth is not an invention of our feelings, but a reality we are meant to live into.
I write because words help us see, sometimes what we’ve forgotten, sometimes what we’ve avoided, and occasionally what we’ve always known but lacked the courage to name. My work serves one purpose, at its best, it points beyond itself, away from me, and toward the Author of all things. My hope is that my words might steady the mind, awaken the imagination, and help us live more fully awake to God, to one another, and to the world.
I’m the founder and director of Beautiful, Good, & True, a platform and podcast exploring faith, transformation, and what it means to follow Jesus with integrity and wholeness in a world of fragmentation and disembodiment.
I’ve been blessed to study and teach the Bible with globally, pastor in the local church, and dive earn two master’s degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my amazing wife, Brenda, and our two spirited kids, Kennedi and JD. We love traveling, watching sports, and sharing a laugh over In-N-Out Burger. I’d love to connect with you and your audience, it’s an honor to walk this journey together.
